In this class, we'll be using a variety of Ozian perspectives to investigate themes of wonder, friendship, displacement, identity and desire, and especially of journey and transformation. In addition to the original book, each week you'll find links to videos, poems and a few articles, but the main work here will be to use Oz as a place for exploration in your own writing. Each week we’ll write new poems from a prompt linked to Baum's masterpiece, and many adaptations of these travels. You'll be invited to share your thoughts and the work they inspire with classmates, and for light instructor feedback if you choose. (10 seats with feedback available.
